To begin your project we will arrange a 90 minute in-home consultation. This will allow us to see the site for the first time and help us to form a customised project brief. From this appointment, we will form a scope-of-works for the project and prepare a detailed fee proposal.

Our proposals work within your budget and are a pre-determined fixed fee with a transparent hourly rate for implementation and design management if your project requires it.

  • consultation fee paid upfront

  • no hidden costs

tip: you can also use this consultation to bounce ideas off a designer. Having an experienced designer in your home to see your space with fresh eyes can be a fantastic starting point to get the ideas flowing and start the conversation about how different layout options may work in your home before you commit to a renovation project.

It’s also a great opportunity to ask about materials and finishes, budget expectations and the trades you may require.

Kitchen Design

This is a stand-alone package for clients who want their kitchen/joinery professionally designed and documented. You may need these drawings for a builder to use on-site, or use them to have multiple cabinetmakers quote joinery for you. Delivering concept designs, mood boards, 3D perspective drawings, fixtures and finishes schedules, physical product samples (where possible), and a full set of professionally designed and drafted design drawings we give you all the information you need to make an informed decision and get the best possible price and outcome for your joinery.

We find that most clients engage us for this service so that they can shop them around to different cabinetmakers and get the best price. In general, cabinetmakers will not allow you to keep their designs, and we find their employees’ main goal is to sell the job, rather than creating a beautiful and functional design that works for you within your budget. (We have seen some shocking design choices from some of the largest cabinetmakers in VIC.)

If you do not have a cabinetmaker in mind, we can also offer comparative cabinetry quotes from our network of trusted cabinetmakers and with our generous supplier discounts we find you will generally save most if not all of the cost of the service using Kaas Interiors for your joinery.

It allows you to get accurate quotes before starting your project and ultimately assists you in selecting the most suitable trades for your projects.

Our comprehensive documentation outlines all the fixtures and finishes going into your bathroom, gives you a full set of plans for your builder to build off and dimensions everything down to the correct height of your toilet roll holder. This package usually allows for visits to supplier showrooms and we help you select tiles, tapware and anything else you may need for a successful bathroom renovation.

With Kaas Interiors by your side, you can be confident in a beautifully designed and functional bathroom that you can enjoy for years to come.

How We Work…

  • 1. Phone Consultation

Book a free 20-minute consultation over the phone with one of our designers. This will allow us to better understand your scope of works and help you to better understand how we can help you turn your project into reality.

  • 2. On Site Consultation

This is our first in-person meeting which helps us to understand the requirements of the project and allows us to get a feel for both our clients and the space. Depending on the scope of works, this meeting can also include your builder and will help us to form a design brief and design proposal outlining our professional fees for our design service.

  • 3. Concept Creation

At this stage, we begin to research the brief. This will form the aesthetic of the project and helps set the tone for the design to follow. We use a variety of techniques including digital concept boards (mood boards), visual references and physical material samples to help you visualise the look and feel of your final design.

  • 4. Design

This is where we begin to build on the initial concept outlined in the previous stage. We begin putting together all the elements that form a well thought out design and start to professionally document the process. This stage can include working drawings, FFE schedules, joinery design and options for material and colour selections.

  • 5. Construction & Implementation

Depending on your individual project, this is where your design will come to life. This can include; building work, joinery install, plumbing, electrical, floor finishes and window furnishings. Depending on the brief we can make site visits and inspect the progress to ensure the work is being completed to the detail outlined in the working drawings and specifications.

  • 6. Design Management

We are not a set and forget company and through experience have realised that the finished outcome of a project is usually better when the designer remains part of the process throughout the different project stages. We keep ourselves available through the construction and install phase of the important design elements to ensure a seamless design outcome.
